  • I beleive that ACCA is more better than CFA or CMA since it covers almost 50% of CA & CIMA syllabus which provides an extensive training to candidates which is not available in CFA.

  • What kind of industries accept CMA? Would this degree be suitable for Investment Banking/ Asset Management or only for general roles?

  • hi, ACCA is more concentrated on accounting & audit whereas CFA is more on investment banking. if u complete CFA the job prospects are in Banking, Derivates market etc. where as an ACCA u will get jobs in audit firm like kpmg, pwc .. both take two to three years time to complete and exams are conducted in june & dec.. why dont u check CMA which is more flexible . u can take exams at any time during the year. it takes maximum one year to complete and prospects is also very high.

  • well , another professional qualification to consider is CMA . its getting more popular and also covers all aspects of managing a company from Accounting to general management.

  • I am not exactly an expert, but would suggest that it greatly varies on your interest. Being a recent graduate, I have been looking for the right option myself. From what I've gathered, CFA - Extremely detailed focusing mainly on financial concepts. Good for those who already might have a base (Education/Experience) in this field looking for more groewth. MBA - Wider variety of subjects, with lesser concentration in any. In my experience of talking to PGs, those coming in from other industry pursue MBA as a break into the finance industry. ACCA - Very respected among most employers. Specializing in Accounts, opening doors in bot the Finance and Accounting Industries. Again, from what I have gathered, those with an ACCA have equal weight age in IB as CFAs. Universal acceptance in most financial services fields. CPA - Depends on the location of the candidate. I have not met many CPAs, but heard of lucrative offers for those of do hold the degrees. Ultimately, most professional degrees require you to have some work experience to be a charter holder. You will need work experience to actually qualify as a member, rather than just complete the degree. sidart30@gmail

  • It all depend on your future career path. Are you going into auditing, then ACCA is better, are you going into investment banking, then surely CFA is better. MBA is good if it is from an ivy league school since every Tom, Dick, and Harry has an MBA nowadays. ACCA is much better than CPA, and much harder. CFA is the top degree is finance and has the best value for money too.

  • CFA and ACCA are two different qualifications specializing different fields i.e. CFA is more oriented towards investments and finance arena whereas ACCA curriculum is focussed on Accounting and Audit. CPA can be considered equivalent to an ACCA as it geared towards accounting and auditing.
